Year 2 tailoring project

Our Year 2 Students have completed this year’s fast paced and challenging Tailoring project, each creating a unique jacket or coat inspired by their own research. Their final designs are diverse and innovative, showcasing a wealth of talent and ambition.

The students garment begins life as just a blank piece of paper and a pencil – from this blank page the students learn to draft a tailored block, then pitch, fit, drape and manipulate it to transform it into their amazing designs.

The project ‘Cut to Suit’ enables students to learn traditional tailoring techniques and then to experimentally utilise these within a concept. At the end of the project, their 6 outfit collections and final garments successfully showcase both their Tailoring skills and own design aesthetic.
