Recently, Fashion Design Rochester year 1 students completed their second design project; a live collaboration with House of Fraser. Students were invited to design a capsule collection for Autumn Winter 2018, using either ‘Skin Deep’, ‘Dreamscape’, ‘Culture Hood’ or ‘Neo romantics’ trends as their starting point
The capsule collection could be designed for either BIBA – a 50-year-old heritage brand with inspiration often taken from the glamour of Art Deco and reimagined for the modern woman, or alternatively, for the in-house Menswear brand, LABEL LAB.
House of Fraser Design Manager Claire Canes came to UCA Rochester to introduce the project for the students. She also visited half way through the project for a toile review to give feedback and ideas.
A selection of garments are currently on display in the Fashion Design department and work was also shown to staff and students to give a snapshot of the work produced.
