Each year we invite our talented alumni to come back to UCA and talk to the Fashion Design students about their careers and offer advice and help to the current final year students who will be embarking on their own careers in a few months’ time. This year we had seven visitors with a variety of experience working both in the UK and Europe. It was an enlightening and engaging day for all.
Alexa Papasvasileiou graduated in 2010 and started her career in Paris where she spent 4 years interning and working for several fashion houses such as: LANVIN, Chloe and GiambattistaValli. After this she moved to London to work as a designer at Erdem.
Chloe Atkinson graduated this year and was approached by Mothercare at Graduate Fashion Week. Despite being a womenswear designer and not having ever designed childrenswear Chloe beat off stiff competition from several other graduates who were selected for interview and has been working as a Design Assistant since the summer.
Faiza Matovu graduated in 2014 and started her career working for Acne in Sweden. She is now Assistant Designer for Womenswear and Menswear at Crew Clothing
Harrison Thom graduated in 2013 and is a Menswear Designer at AAK Ltd. AAK is a menswear supplier specialising in outerwear and tailoring who design and manufacture for many UK high street brands and international customers.
Joanna Leon graduated in 2013 and is a Senior Pattern Technician for Calvin Klein, Jeans Division in Amsterdam.
Johanna Wahlman graduated in 2014 and is a Design Assistant Brora
Joseph Okrah graduated in 2011 and is Senior Menswear Designer Global Design and Innovation MA.STRUM / BONEVILLE
