The Fashion Design course made it’s annual visit to Graduate Fashion Week at the beginning of June, exhibiting a diverse and eclectic range of collections on the catwalk and some incredibly strong portfolios on the UCA stand.
Collections included a mix of men’s and women’s wear ranges with a great focus on colour, texture, surface embellishment and with eclectic mixes of fabrics and some dynamic silhouettes. Yingi Goma, whose menswear collection was based on African street sellers, won the People’s Choice Award, an acknowledgement of the quality and innovation in Yingi’s stunning collection.
The portfolios demonstrated the talents and achievements of this year’s graduating cohort. It has been an exceptional year in terms of competition successes and this success continued at Graduate Fashion Week with Jojo Montague getting through to the final five in the Portfolio Award, another amazing and well deserved achievement.
